The first week of the flausen+ research project at Theaterwerkstatt Pilkentafel has been a great start of our
collaboration as a collective. As our goal of this residency is to explore the topic of shame through dance and photography, we explored possible ways and methods to work with each other during this first week. We got to know each other’s needs as artists in our fields and started to explore where these practices meet.

We started our days with movement exercises, discussions about the issues of shame, advanced our theoretical research on the topic and had practical workshops with our mentor Miriam Michel. At the end of the week, we went into site-specific exploration of various locations in Flensburg. Mostly, getting familiar with working in front of the camera, outside eyes, static and dynamic ways of occupying space.

We feel very welcomed here at Theaterwerkstatt Pilkentafel, and we are sure the people in this place give us the time, space and contacts to delve in our topic even deeper throughout the coming weeks.
