Paweł Świerczek

Paweł Świerczek (1988) – dramatist, performer, events producer, LGBT+ activist. Graduated from culture studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Laboratory of New Theatrical Practices at SWPS University in Warsaw. Selected art works: translation of “Chroma: A Book of Color” by D. Jarman (2017), playwriting and dramaturgy of stage adaptation of “Chroma”(2019, Teatrgaleria Studio, Warsaw, dir. G. Jaremko); solo performance “Of Coal and Rainbow” (2018, Sophiensaele, Berlin), directing group street performance “I Am” (2019, Malta Festiva / GENERATOR Malta, Poznań); installation and research project “Queer Elderly House” (2019, Scena Robocza, Poznań); stage performance “Everything Will Change”(2020, Scena Robocza, Poznań, created and performed collectively with A. Kamińska, M. Popiel and M. Wajdzik-Radziejowski). Since 2018 he runs interdisciplinary project and collective Śląsk Przegięty (Queer Silesia), which aims at telling the queerstory of the Upper Silesia region and animating queer community in the city of Katowice.
